Happily married with children, I enjoy fishing and I love to study the Word of God. A former excavating contractor from the Texas Hill Country, building ranch roads, foundation pads and underground utilities. I moved to North Carolina in December 2008.

I got saved at the age of 12 (1973) in a local Baptist Church. I remember the joy of salvation and the deep concern for my loved ones and friends who didn’t know Jesus. Somehow the cares of this world and the lust of other things entered in and I became unfruitful. I’m not sure how I made it considering the life that I found myself living throughout High School and beyond.

Finally at age 32 I began to seek God again, I started reading my Bible and watching TBN christian television. Reading was not easy for me, it required energy that was in short supply and I lacked the discipline necessary to improvise.

I bought my first Audio Bible cassette program and a Walkman player with headphones. I listened to the Word during long hours of work while driving my dump truck or operating machinery, this had a huge impact on my life. It was soothing, I felt fortunate that someone would take the time to read the Word to me.

During the Spring of 2007, (after ten years of regular and repeated course corrections in my flight) I was operating my bulldozer while building a stock pond in Texas when I received the Lord’s call on my life. I stopped the machine, looked up and replied “use my hands Lord, I’ll do it” followed by “you mean, I could really work for you!?”. With a strong will, blind faith and a weak understanding, the adventure began. I had no idea how to get rid of all the stuff, (property, machinery, equipment, tools, debt, misc. bands of wickedness, etc.) but I was willing.

The next two and a half years came along with much travail, but I realize now that God had this perfect plan all along. I stand here today a free man, no longer bound by the stuff. I am ready and able to go, I report for duty to the King of kings.
