Jesus said, “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:19). The word “nations” here is the Greek word ethnos, which means, of the same language and people group.

In Guatemala there are many nations of the Maya. The K’iche’ people (a subgroup of the Maya), are the second largest ethnic group in Guatemala. There’s about one million Native American people in Guatemala who speak the K’iche’ language, some having a working knowledge of Spanish but most of these indigenous people are complacent, using only the language of their ancestors.

When I travel to Quetzaltenango, (Xela) I’m developing a data base of Pastor’s and leaders that I follow up with each trip. Meeting with them about their listening programs and ministering to them in fellowship as we get more leads as to finding more people who are hungry for God. This is the plan that the Lord has given me, start here to reach there, meaning with each meeting I draw closer to those who are farther, going deeper into the forest to reach the unreached.

If you have ever experienced the pleasure of  having a family member or friend read aloud for you, then you should know what a soothing and tranquil experience this can be. Back in 1993 I purchased my first Audio Bible on cassette. The more I heard, the more faith came, the more wisdom I received, and the more understanding I got. (Proverbs 4:5&7, 16:16 Psalms 119:104) I thank God for the Audio Bible and those people who recorded the Word. To me, it was like someone cared enough to read for me, and it changed my life.

Over the years I’ve enjoyed a ministry of giving Bibles as a gift to different people as they crossed my path in life. Then, last year while researching online for another Audio Bible source I found the Faith Comes By Hearing Ministries (FCBH). I contacted them and agreed to lend my office computer to be used as a server for their Audio Bible downloads, (pier to pier), so far I’ve had a part in distributing more than 3,500 Audio Bible downloads in 7 different languages in over 100 countries.

FCBH has produced Audio recordings of the New Testament in over 400 languages. Through prayer they’ve developed this third world playback unit called the Proclaimer , a  powerful ministry tool for areas of the world with limited resources.
